The Dustin and Sarah Carpenter Quest for Life Foundation has been established in memory of our dear friends Dustin and Sarah. A board of their peers has organized the fund in conjunction with First Community Bank. The intent of this organization is to be a vehicle to raise money for the continuing education of their children, Josie and Kiefer and to provide scholarships to persons wishing to enter the ministry and/or the education field.
WHAT IS THE SPORTSMAN'S CHALLENGE?
In a nutshell – A sportsman’s challenge is a weekend full of challenging events that has proven to be a format that allows an equal playing field for the best golfers against the worst. Golf is only one event out of many and it holds equal weight to all events in the final outcome. Several two man/woman teams will compete in the following events over a two day course.
Champions take home the traveling trophy!!!

THE GAME AND RULES

18 Holes of Golf at The Course at Eagle Mountain - Scramble format, low team score

Skeet Shoot - each team member shoots the following, highest score wins.

  • Single skeet - 1 point
  • Grouped doubles – 1st skeet = 1 point, 2nd skeet = 2 points
  • Split doubles- 1st skeet = 1 point, 2nd skeet = 3 points
  • Triples- 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 3, 3rd = 5

Football Toss - each team throws 5 footballs from 15 yards at a truck tire. 3 points if it goes through, 1 point for a rim shot. Total gross score.

Free Throw - 10 shots from each member. Self explanatory.

Darts - Ten darts per person, high score.

Rifle Shoot - 5 shots at a target from a scoped .22 cal at 20 yards. ( Standing -free hand) no rest. High score.

Horseshoes - 10 shoes per member. Dead ringer = 3 points, Leaner = 1

Bow Shoot - Recurve bow – 5 shots per member at a numbered target from 10 yards.

ALL EVENTS AFTER GOLF WILL TAKE PLACE AT PARTY-Q PARTY HOUSE.

HOW DOES THE SCORING WORK?

If 20 teams to participate and your team wins an event outright, your team would receive 20 points for that event. If there are 22 teams and you win an event, you receive 22 points.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A GAME ENDS IN A TIE?

If there are 20 teams, and 2 teams were to have the lowest golf score of say 68. 1st place of 20 points and 2nd place of 19 points are added together and divided by 2. For you mathematically challenged - 20 + 19 = 39 , 39 / 2 = 19.5. In this case both teams would receive 19.5 points. If three teams tie, the total of points awarded for the three places would be added together and divided by three.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE OVERALL EVENT ENDS IN A TIE?

The committee would predetermine what event would break the tie for 1st place. 5 darts from each member, closest putt, etc.

After the games wrap up on Saturday, delicious championship barbeque will be provided by Batesville's Party-Q BBQ Team.

FRIDAY NIGHT GALA

Friday night gala will take place at Josie's Steakhouse. Event will begin at 6:30 and will feature an auction, and lots of food and fun. Following the dinner and auction, Michael Collins of Further Down will take the stage with an acoustic set, including a special song he has written in memory of Dustin and Sarah. CD's of the song will be on sale with all proceeds going to the Quest for Life Foundation. Doghouse will then take the stage and play an acoustic set.
